Bibles

While providing material resources to those most in need is extremely helpful and important, we believe the most important aspect of human existence is the soul. We support the enrichment, growth and spiritual health of people in the communities we serve by providing God's Holy Word for the guidance and wisdom they need. As we receive urgent requests from the people, we do our best to make sure no one who wants a Bible goes without.

Sanitary Pads

Obtaining sanitary pads is a big chllenge for young girls in rural Kenya. This can cause many problems in their lives. Often girls will stay home from school due to embarrassment or even marry at a young age to ensure they get the provisions they need, which can also lead to pregnancy at an early age. By providing sanitary pads to these young girls, their lives will not be disrupted and their futures will be brighter.

Kitchen

For years our headquarters church has been providing meals to vulnerable children and widows using a mud and stick structure as a kitchen, using open flame to cook. Before we can purchase any new equipment to make the job more effective and efficient, we need to construct a more secure kitchen facility. This project will replace the current mud and stick structure with a brick structure.

Chairs for Kids

When kids show up for Sunday School they often lack chairs for their size. The solution is to use wooden benches with no back. This is a danger for smaller kids who often fall off these benches. Our goal is to purchase 30 kid-sized chairs for this project to make it safe for kids to attend Sunday School.

Pressure Cooker

Developed and manufactured in Kenya, the 50L Jiko-Kul electric pressure cooker (EPC) can feed a hundred kids at Life Spring Ministry’s school in rural Kenya at a fraction of the cost of current methods, as well as being safer and healthier than cooking with firewood. The funds raised in this project will be used to purchase a solar powered EPC to help feed the kids in the community.

Smokeless Stoves

In rural Kenya it is common for people to use open flame wood fires to cook their meals. This causes health issues with eyes and lungs for the cook and their family, including children. It is also expensive to continue gathering firewood every day for meals. We provide smokeless stoves that eliminate both of these challenges for the communities we serve.

Water Filters

Access to clean water is a challenge in rural Kenya. Most people obtain water from shallow bore holes and other unclean sources like rivers and streams, often walking long distances to and from the source. Many diseases and outbreaks can be attributed to consuming this contaminated water. We provide Swayer Point One filters to the community, which greatly reduces water borne disease among children and adults.

Solar Lighting

With limited or no access to electrical power, residents of rural Kenya often use paraffin lamps to light their homes after dark. This is unhealthy due to the smoke and poor lighting, which causes issues with eyesight for children who are trying to study by the dim light. We provide BioLite 620 Solar Lighting systems to homes, which makes an enormous difference in their lives.

Mosquito Nets

Malaria and other mosquito borne diseases are common in rural Kenya. Providing nets helps people stay safe while sleeping at night. We provide the nets and education with follow up to ensure the nets are being used regularly and correctly.
